Day 11 - October 13, 2016

11:30 a.m.  - I'm 38 hours into my first 48 hour fast (2-day cleanse), and surprisingly it hasn't really been that difficult. I've had a few times when I've felt hungry, but they've generally been within 15 minutes or so of when I was due to either have a drink or snack. I'm doing the hourly schedule, so I start off with Cleanse for Life at 10 a.m. (Most people start earlier in the a.m. but 10 works for me.) It's not bad -- there's some weird taste I can't quite pinpoint, it kind of reminds me of a grape Tootsie Pop. It's better cold; some people drink it over ice. You take four ounces, which I can do in five generous swallows, so I just do that. At 11 a.m. I have an IsaDelights chocolate. (I got the milk chocolate with salted caramel; they're not bad. They're not Godiva, but they're not bad.) Then at noon I have an IsaSnacks. (I got these in vanilla, just because I didn't want to be all chocolate, all the time. They're OK, kind of chalky and blah but not horrible. I'll try the chocolate next time just to switch it up. I'd read on one of the Facebook groups, I think, to suck on the wafer instead of chewing it, and I think that helps both with the taste and of course making it last longer, so it seems more satisfying.) Repeat that four times, and then it's 10 p.m. I thought I'd be hungry overnight and wake up starving, but honestly I never even had my last IsaSnack last night, and I wasn't hungry when I woke up this morning. I did drink a ton of water yesterday, to keep me filled up -- I probably drank more water yesterday than I did the entire month of September! I have ten hours to go, hopefully they'll go as smoothly as the first 38 have!

I did take weight and measurements on Day 9 -- I'd lost seven pounds and 16 inches at that point. (The inches may be off 1-2, due to different amounts of pressure on the tape, but I'm trying to be consistent there.) I'm going to do it again tomorrow, although my booklet doesn't actually have me do it again until day 30; most people have finished their 2-day cleanse by day 9, but since I pushed it back a couple of days I want to get the immediate post-cleanse 'readings'.

9:30 p.m. - I survived. ;)  I was starting to get pretty hungry by the end of it, in between hourly 'intake', but still, it really wasn't horrible.  I'm not sure if I'll do another two-day fast cleanse in a couple of weeks, or do weekly one-day fasts cleanses for the rest of the month. (I really should use their preferred terminology! You're supposed to cleanse four days a month.) We'll see how I feel next week!
